Mobile games have come a long way. From the simplistic games offered in flip phones which had flimsy graphics and very limited gameplay to expansive games with great storylines and HD graphics, there is so much to admire about how the quality of games has improved in mobiles. This has meant that there are now Android games available which need higher processing speed and advanced processors. Finding games which would be great on your phone's processor can be a blessing as you would only need to download those games. NVIDIA TegraZone 2 is an app made for this purpose with all games which run great with the NVIDIA Tegra processor available with the app.
NVIDIA has remained one of the most influential companies in this regard and NVIDIA Tegra Processors have always been in demand in relation to Android games that need higher processor performance. NVIDIA TegraZone 2 is an app which can help you find games which are actually optimized for the Tegra processor.
NVIDIA TegraZone 2 has a very simple user interface. There are three main tabs in the app. The first one is named 'Spotlight'. Here you will find all the featured games which work great with the NVIDIA processor. Games such as Magic Rampage, Lanterns, Evoland, Oddworld, Retro City Rampage DX, Trials Frontier etc. are present in this section. Tapping on any of the games leads to their description and you can find a note telling you that the game works great on NVIDIA Shield Tablet and NVIDIA Shield TV. However, there is no direct downloading of the Android games through the app. You would be redirected to Google Play when you will seek to download the game. It doesn't matter if the game is free or has a price tag, you would need to do the downloading and installation via Google Play. There is also a featured news section in the app through the listed news here is two to three months old which is a bit surprising.
The second tab of the app is called 'Games'. Here you will find all the games that are present in the app's database. This is a great feature for people who are simply looking for fine Android games and aren't exactly worried if the game has been optimized for NVIDIA Tegra processor or not. The third tab is 'News' and there are news pieces related to NVIDIA and NVIDIA processors present here. It's slightly odd though that the section isn't updated continuously by the app.
The app allows you to control over the notifications and whether the app can send you notifications regarding new Android games on your phone or not. It's interesting though that the only thing the app is good at is providing a small list of games which are optimized for NVIDIA Shield Tablet and TV. It doesn't even help in downloading the games and redirects you back to Google Play. The fact that the app hasn't been updated since November 2015 also shows that NVIDIA doesn't think much about the app itself.
- Easy to find games which have been optimized for NVIDIA Tegra processors
- Simple layout with a fine theme
- Nicely compiled list of Android games which you can play after downloading from Google Play
- A featured news section where you can get updates related to NVIDIA
NVIDIA TegraZone 2 is an interesting app, to say the least. If you are looking for games which work great for NVIDIA Shield Tablet or NVIDIA Shield TV then the app can really help you. However, if you think that the app will help you download Android games and assess whether a certain game would work with your phone or not then this isn't the app for you.
